Growing up in Paris, crêpes were an everyday pleasure that brought people together, simple, comforting, and always made with love.
In 2014, Wali took a leap of faith and moved from Paris, France to Melbourne, Australia, hoping to bring his dream to life. His vision was simple: to share the same joy he experienced as a child, enjoying crêpes made with the rich, authentic flavours passed down from his mother and grandmother.
Wali spent more than ten years working in hospitality, learning every part of the craft from making and roasting coffee to perfecting the delicate art of crêpes.
Awa French Crêperie & Café was created from that passion and a long-held dream to open a place that feels warm, welcoming, and distinctly Parisian. The aim is to share the joy of true French crêpes made with care and quality ingredients in a space that makes people smile.
Our galettes are made with buckwheat flour imported directly from Brittany in France, the birthplace of traditional French crêperies. Our sweet crêpes are prepared in the classic way with plenty of eggs, fresh ingredients, and careful attention to detail in every pour and fold. To complement them, the menu also features coffee, smoothies, juices, rich chocolate drinks and sandwiches.
The crêperie’s French music, charming décor, authentic newspapers, and French-speaking staff create an atmosphere that feels like a journey to Brittany itself.
